This is the first of two courses that, together, provide a comprehensive exploration of the theoretical foundations, four music therapy methods (receptive, re-creative, composition, improvisation), resource materials, and practical application of music therapy techniques in various clinical settings. Students will develop the theoretical and applied competencies necessary to begin the clinical practicum sequence after the completion of both Methods and Materials courses.
