This course provides an in-depth exploration of the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of individuals during adolescence (approximately ages 10 to 25). Drawing on major theoretical perspectives (e.g., ecological, psychodynamic, social learning), students will examine the biological and environmental factors that influence developmental trajectories with an emphasis on the application of theory and research to real-world issues relevant to Child and Family Studies careers. Students will gain skills in evaluating developmental milestones and understanding the diverse experiences of youth in various cultural contexts.
