COM 110: Introduction to Cinema Studies

An interdisciplinary introduction to the basic concepts and tools of film analysis through representative examples from the global history of cinema. Exploration of how spectators’ experiences and interpretations are shaped by the technical-aesthetic dimensions of film as well as its cultural, historical, and political contexts.

COM 400: COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA STUDIES INTERNSHIP

This course is the capstone and experiential component for the Communications and Media Studies Major. The course provides students with hands-on experience in the field of media and communications and is designed to bridge the gap between academic theories and real-world practice. Students will work in various fields, including public relations, brand strategy, digital marketing and messaging, journalism, corporate communications, and broadcasting. This internship will be at least 120 hours over the course of a semester. Content will vary depending on the organization in which the student is placed.
