Curriculum & Design empowers pre-service teachers with the instructional strategies needed to teach students in today's diverse society. Students who take this course will learn the art of designing student-centered lessons, the use of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), writing objectives, developing and selecting formative and summative assessments, and the creation of lessons that incorporate research-based, instructional practices. Additionally, specific aspects of classroom management will be taught including managing student behavior during teaching, lesson pacing, and effective transitions within lessons. This course has a 10-hour clinical and is offered in the spring of each academic year.
