This course spotlights issues and approaches in determining the strategic direction of a sport organization. This course will provide students with the knowledge to develop their own strategic approach to leadership in sport organizations. Students will gain an understanding of how to effectively apply their strategies and how decisions affect organizational success. Students will analyze and write policies and procedures, setting a vision and implementing plans that influentially move the organization toward its set goals.
Class meetings will consist of a mixture of lectures, discussion, and in-class activities. Some class time may be devoted to guest speakers and work on projects and presentations.
